Geirus (Jewish Conversion)

The Rabbinical Council has established a respected conversion beis din to serve the needs of the community. Our beis din is a member of the Geirus Policies and Standards (GPS) network of conversion courts, which has the full endorsement of the Beis Din of America and which is recognized by the Chief Rabbinate of Israel.

As such, candidates for conversion under the auspices of the Vaad Harabanim of Greater Washington must commit to observance of all of the mitvos (commandments) and fully participate in the life of an Orthodox Jewish community of their choosing.

For information about geirus, please call Rabbi Mordechai Rhine at 301-770-0078 ext. 5
