Kashrus In The Greater Washington Area

Picture
The Rabbinical Council manages and sustains a viable kashrus infrastructure comprised of dedicated proprietors, well trained mashgichim and kosher products of the highest standards. The result is a kashrus operation that runs smoothly and reliably.

Vaad facilities are almost always under the supervision of a mashgiach temidi (a mashgiach who is on the premises during business operations). In addition, our meat is Glatt Kosher, and our vegetable checking procedures meets the highest national standards. Many facilities are also certified as Cholov Yisroel, Pas Yisroel and Yoshon as noted in the "Certified Establishments" listing.

To learn more about our certified establishments or to ask general kashrus questions, please call Rabbi Moshe Walter or the Vaad office at 301-770-0078, ext. 0.
To apply for kashrus certification, please complete and submit the form below to initiate the process. A Vaad representative will respond as soon as possible.

Certification Process

Applications for  Vaad certification are always carefully reviewed.  Only after verifying the facts, touring the establishment, meeting with the owners and, where applicable, the managers and chefs, the Vaad's Kashrus Administrator formulates a comprehensive proposal for certification including all aspects of the facilities kosher operations. The recommendation is then brought before the Vaad's Kashrus Committee for review. All certifications are presented to the full Vaad for approval. Each establishment is signed on a detailed contract with the Vaad outlining conditions for Capitol K Kosher Certification.  To begin the application process please complete the form below.
