Rabbi Singer has served as the Rav of Congregation Young Israel Ezras Israel of Potomac for nearly thirty years and is currently the President of the Vaad HaRabanim of Greater Washington.
He was privileged to be a student of Rabbi Nachum Avigdor Weitzner zt”l and HoRav Shlomo Twerski zt”l, the Hornesteipler Rebbe, of Denver Colorado, from whom he learned Ramchal and Chasidus. Rabbi Singer continued his Torah studies at Telshe Yeshiva, Chicago, where he had the zechus of attending the shiurim of HoRav Chaim Dov Keller zt”l and HoRav Avrohom Chaim Levin zt”l. Most importantly was his close relationship with his rebbe, HoRav Chaim Schmelzer zt"l. While in Telshe, he also merited to learn halacha from Hadayan Rav Shmuel Fuerst shlit”a from whom he later received Smicha and with whom he still regularly consults. Rabbi Singer has a PhD in Electronic Materials from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and has spent the bulk of his professional career involved with the Aerospace industry, at the Pentagon and in the private sector. He enjoys time with his family, hiking and camping, and learning Torah on his screened-in back porch.
